INGREDIENTS

1 pkg. Isadora® refried beans
2 pkg. refrigerated biscuit dough (regular size, 10 to a pkg.)
4 slices pre-sliced pepper jack or American cheese
16 small smoked sausages (cocktail size)
1 egg

HOW TO COOK

Preheat oven to 350° F.

Separate the biscuit dough rounds.  On a lightly floured surface, flatten each round with your fingers until it is about 3.5 inches in diameter.  Place about 1 tablespoon of IsadoraÒ refried beans in the center of each round and spread out slightly.  Tear each slice of cheese into 4 quarters and place one-quarter piece on top of the beans.  Top with a cocktail sausage and fold over into a half moon shape.  Press the edges of the dough together to seal and place on an ungreased baking sheet.

In a small bowl, place 1 egg and 1 tablespoon of water and mix together with a fork.  Brush each kolache with the egg wash.

Bake for about 15 minutes, until golden brown.  Serve warm or at room temperature.
